Hi, I'm Chris Widman, the proud owner of Brookes Butchers the only British butchers shop in Loughborough town centre. Having been a butcher for over 14 years, I have gained a wealth of experience through working with long established butchers which I brought into the shop since we opened in 2017.
I work alongside one other skilled butcher and two trainees striving to provide great customer service whilst making sure we supply only the best cuts of meat to your taste.
All of our cooked meats and baked goods, such as pies, are produced in our bakery on site.
We produce all of our own sausages and burgers and have a fantastic bacon slicer allowing us to slice our bacon directly from the loins, exactly how you require it. We have also began home dry curing and smoking out our own bacon from the locally sourced pork.
The beef is hung for no less than 3 weeks giving the meat the time it needs to fully mature.
We source our beef, pork and lamb from the Melton Mowbray Livestock Market. Most animals come from local farms around the East Midlands, which gives us an opportunity to hand pick the breed, size and quality of the livestock, making sure every carcass we sell is of the finest quality whilst keeping food miles to a minimum.
We prefer to use Free Range meats as this ensures we deliver consistent cuts of meat, week on week.
Our aim is to produce and implement a unique menu which is constantly evolving to cater for all.
That being said, we do offer a wide range of tried and tested gluten free products that are cooked and produced on site.
